ISL 2021-22 | SC East Bengal and Jamshedpur FC share points in their ISL opener

 

SC East Bengal and Jamshedpur FC played out a 1 goal each draw in the match 3 of the Indian Super League 2021-2022 season in Tilak Maidan on Sunday.

The first 2 games of the Indian Super League 2021-2022 season was cracker of games, with as much as 12 goals scored from those 2 games. However, the goal fest didn't continue on Sunday, as both SC East Bengal and Jamshedpur FC found it hard to score goals.

The 2 goals were scored by both the teams' central-defenders Franjo Prce and Jamshedpur FC's captain Peter Hartley, both off the set-pieces.

It was Jamshedpur FC who were keeping SC East Bengal under pressure, but SC East Bengal scored the first goal of the match, of a set-piece. 

Bikash Jairu's cross gets punched away by TP Rehenesh, however goes as much as Antonio Perosevic who then kicks the ball at the face of goal and SC East Bengal defender Franjo Prce was there to slot it home with a overhead kick.

Even SC East Bengal scored the goals, it was still Jamshedpur FC constantly attacking SC East Bengal's goal, but found it very hard to score.

SC East Bengal then took the charge after the mandatory drinks break at the 30th minute of the match. However, it was once again the other team scored the goal.

Both teams went into the half-time break with 1 goal each. The 2nd half was again Jamshedpur FC in control of the match. However, it proved really hard for them to go past SC East Bengal goalkeeper Arindam Bhattacharya.

SC East Bengal came close to steal the match later towards the end of regulation time, when midfielder Jackichand Singh saw Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper off his line. He took a long shot almost of the half line, but it just went a little too much as the ball landed on top of the net.

The match ended 1-1 each and the points were shared. This is the first draw of this season. SC East Bengal will next take on ATK Mohun Bagan in the Kolkata Derby on the 27th November, while Jamshedpur FC will take on FC Goa on the 26th November.
