Top 10 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 performers who could earn IPL contract

The 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy culminated yesterday with Tamil Nadu beating Baroda in the summit clash to claim their second championship. Captain Dinesh Karthik led the Tamil Nadu side from the front, while IPL stars Narayan Jagadeesan and R Sai Kishore also did a fine job for the team.

The Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy has served as a platform for the youngsters to showcase their talent and attract the IPL franchises towards them. With the IPL Auction set to happen this month, here are the top 10 performers who could earn a contract.

#10 Ashutosh Aman

He has played 18 T20s and taken 23 wickets at an economy rate of 6.12 in his career. In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021, Aman was the leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets in six games.

#9 Khrievitso Kense

Kense received a place in the Mumbai Indians’ trials ahead of the auction. Even the Rajasthan Royals have called him up for trials now.

#8 Lukman Meriwala

He is a left-arm fast-medium bowler. Meriwala bowled two maiden overs in the tournament, which shows he could be an asset for any IPL franchise.

#7 Chetan Sakariya

There are very few Indian left-arm fast bowlers in the IPL. Sakariya’s 12 wickets in 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy might earn him an IPL contract soon.

#1 M Siddharth

Manimaran Siddharth was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in IPL 2020. However, the franchise released him without giving him a single chance to play.

He played his only match of the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the final against Baroda. Siddharth took four wickets in the match and helped Tamil Nadu win.
