Jimmy Neesham reacts to his performance in 'The Hundred' against Southern Brave
The New Zealand national cricket team all-rounder Jimmy Neesham has become an internet sensation after the hilarious social media posts he has been doing for the past couple of months.
He gathered attention again when the New Zealander took to Twitter to praise his performance with a prevalent dialogue in India, especially in Bollywood.
Jimmy Neesham is playing for the Welsh Fire team in the first-ever 'The Hundred,' a hundred-ball cricket tournament organized by the England Cricket Board.
In the latest match of the tournament between Welsh Fire and Southern Brave, Jimmy Neesham had an outstanding outing on the pitch with the ball. The Kiwi managed to pick up three wickets in 15 balls, of which ten balls were dot balls, and gave away only five runs.
The Hundred's official Twitter handle posted about the all-rounder's outstanding performance with his stats from the match. The New Zealand all-rounder retweeted it with a comment that says, "There's an old saying, every dog has his day," he ended it with a laughing emoji.
Talking about the match, it was match number 8 of the men's The Hundred tournament between Welsh Fire and Southern Brave. After winning the toss, Southern Brave captain James Vince opted to bowl first. Batting first, Welsh Fire did very well to put up 165 runs on the board with the loss of 4 wickets. Neesham failed to contribute with the bat, though.
But, in chase of 166 in the 100 balls of their inning, Southern Brave had to face off a player who was on his prime day that day, and that player was none other than James Neesham. Neesham took three wickets in the 15 balls and only gave away five runs; of 15, there were ten dot balls.
As a result, Southern Brave failed to come out in front as they lost the match by 18 runs. Jonny Bairstow was named Man of the Match for his 72 runs for Welsh Fire.
