Watch: Glenn Maxwell leaves World Cup Interview, goes to hug Sachin Tendulkar first

Australian all-rounder, Glenn Maxwell is one of the most popular players in India because of his exploits with the bat. Although he had played for Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians earlier in the league, he captured the attention of the fans only when he became a part of Kings XI Punjab in 2014.

Nicknamed as The Big Show, Maxwell was one of the highest run-scorers in 2014 as he helped Punjab reach their maiden IPL final. Unfortunately, they could not win the title but Maxwell won the hearts of everyone and he even earned a place in the Australian national team.

Maxwell played a match-winning role for the team in the ICC World Cup 2015 as Australia won their fifth World Cup title. This was the first World Cup victory of Maxwell's career and so, he should have been very much excited to lift the silverware.

However, when he saw Sachin Tendulkar present at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as the brand ambassador of cricket, Maxwell left the celebration and went directly to hug him in the middle. This was a very kind gesture from the Aussie because the Australian players are usually known to be very arrogant.

Sachin Tendulkar is hailed by many as the God of Cricket and this could be the reason why Maxwell left the celebration midway to meet him. Another reason could have been that Maxwell played for Mumbai Indians in 2013 and Tendulkar was a major part of the team. That was an unforgettable year for Mumbai Indians because they lifted the trophy for the first time as players like Ricky Ponting, Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga and many others were a part of the team.

There also could be a theory that every time Maxwell won a big title, Tendulkar was present with him hence, he left everything behind and directly went to hug him.
