Watch: Have an inside look at Mumbai Indians' recreation room

Mumbai Indians are the defending champions of IPL and they will look to end their ‘even-year title jinx’ in the IPL this year as Rohit Sharma’s men have never lifted the coveted IPL trophy in an even year. Their title triumphs have taken place in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019.

To ensure that Mumbai Indians’ squad is in a good shape and an excellent mindset ahead of IPL 2020, the team owners have provided them with a dream recreational team room in Abu Dhabi. The team’s director and former World Cup winner Zaheer Khan gave us an inside look of the team room.

The room has excellent facilities and one thing is for sure that the Mumbai players will be in a very good mood ahead of and even during IPL 2020. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah have even begun their practice sessions in the Gulf country.

Mumbai suffered a major loss before the season as their highest wicket-taker Lasith Malinga was ruled out of the season due to personal reasons. Mumbai were quick to announce his replacement as they roped in former Kolkata Knight Riders squad member and Australian fast bowler James Pattinson.

The Australian fast bowler has never played in the IPL and the chances that he features in MI’s first-choice playing XI is very low. The reason behind it is that Mumbai already has the dangerous and experienced quartet of Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenaghan, Trent Boult, and Nathan Coulter-Nile.

He might be a good back-up option, but some fans feel that Mumbai should have signed an overseas spinner. The pitches in the UAE will be more helpful to the spin bowlers. Nevertheless, the team room is so good that every player will enjoy himself together with the entire squad. IPL 2020 begins on 19th September.
