1 former CSK player who got picked in MLC 2023 Draft

The domestic draft for the Major League Cricket 2023 ended recently. Four of the six franchises are partly owned by IPL Team owners. Hence, we can expect a lot of IPL influence on this tournament, too. On that note, in this article, we take a look at one former CSK player who got picked in MLC 2023 Draft.

Chaitanya Bishnoi will play for San Francisco Unicorns

Chaitanya Bishnoi recently moved to the USA to pursue a career there. Back in 2018 and 2019, he was the Chennai Super Kings. In fact, in 2018, he also won the trophy with the unit. A Haryana cricketer, Bishnoi was in good form for a while but did not get a lot of chances to prove his credentials at the higher level. He will now expect to do that in MLC.

More CSK players could sign up as overseas stars

The owners of CSK also own the Texas Super Kings squad in the tournament. For this league, the overseas stars could be signed directly and hence, we can expect the franchise to at least make a few signings from the existing CSK team. Some of the names who could come on board include Dwaine Pretorius and Maheesh Theekshana amongst others. In fact, it may not be a surprise if we also get to see Faf du Plessis in an yellow shirt again, after the South African cricketer led the Joburg Super Kings in SA20. Faf could also end up leading the Texas Super Kings at least for the first edition. Aaron Finch, Mitchell Marsh, Marcus Stoinis and Wanindu Hasaranga are some of the foreign stars who have already signed up for MLC.
