After every series, the playing XI could inevitably undergo some changes in the next tournament. This is how teams are constructed. India, in recent months, has been open to making some bold decisions in order to have a balanced squad. Recently, India defeated Australia to take the series 2-1. Despite the win, a few players might lose their spot in the XI for a long time. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two Indian players whose chances in the playing 11 got reduced after the Australia T20I series.

1) Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel's first series after the injury break was against Australia. Barring the final over in the third match, Harshal did not enjoy a great outing against the Aussies. He conceded a lot of runs and also looked short of variations. Yes, injury break is a factor but with the 2022 T20 World Cup so close, India might not afford him so much time. With Arshdeep Singh also in the squad, he is likely to replace Harshal. The batting depth could become less but Arshdeep's left-arm angle will compensate for that. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh will likely form the pace attack for the T20 WC.

2) Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant is one of the Indian players whose chances in the playing 11 got reduced after the Australia T20I series. Pant did not play all the games but when he played, there was no opportunity to show his form. With this, it is clear that until the end of the T20 World Cup, Pant will not have a place in the strongest XI for Team India. Dinesh Karthik will be the wicketkeeper and will play the role of the specialist finisher.
