2 cricketers who are in line to change countries before the 2022 T20 World Cup

change countries before the 2022 T20 World Cup

In the past, we have seen countries recruit cricketers from other nations to improve their squads. The best example of the same is that of Jofra Archer before the 2019 World Cup. The team got him fast-tracked to the setup and this yielded good returns for the side. Now, a few more cricketers might follow a similar route before the 2022 T20 World Cup. The mega-event will be held later this year in Australia. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two cricketers who are in line to change countries before the 2022 T20 World Cup.

1) Tim David (Singapore to Australia)

A few days ago, Shane Watson urged Australia to hire Tim David before the 2022 T20 World Cup. It would not be a surprise if that materializes in the next few months. Tim David is a brilliant cricketer in the lower middle order. He has the habit of finishing games consistently. Australia would need a player of his mould because Matthew Wade is not in good form. Of course, the team will have to get a wicket-keeper but Tim David is the perfect option for a slot at No.5 or No.6.

2) Michael Rippon (The Netherlands to New Zealand)

Michael Rippon is also one of the cricketers who are in line to change countries before the 2022 T20 World Cup. In fact, the South African bowler has already earned a call-up to the New Zealand setup. Interestingly, a few months ago, Rippon had played for the Netherlands against New Zealand. He is a left-arm wrist-spinner who also offers a decent amount of batting value. Such players are necessary for a T20 XI and since the player is in good form domestically, he has got a chance in the Kiwi squad.
