Kuldeep Yadav Test

Anil Kumble is one of the greatest bowlers that India has seen. He is the highest wicket-taker for the Team in Tests. Amit Mishra and Piyush Chawla were two players who were groomed even before the retirement of Anil. In fact, Mishra made his debut in the series in which Kumble retired. After the retirement of the legend, too, India has tried two spinners of his type but not to great success. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two leg-spinners India tried in Tests after the retirement of Anil Kumble.

1) Karn Sharma

Interestingly, Karn Sharma got a chance to tour Australia in 2014. He also got a game to play. He was in good form back then and since he could also bat at No.8 or even up, he was given a go. However, Karn did not have a great outing and since then, the Railways cricketer has not played in Tests for India.

2) Kuldeep Yadav

Kuldeep Yadav is one of the leg-spinners India tried in Tests after the retirement of Anil Kumble. In the 2017 BGT, Kuldeep Yadav made his debut. He instantly left a mark and also showed the ability to pick wickets in overseas Tests. However, once he started loosing confidence, it was hard for Kuldeep to keep a spot in the team. Nevertheless, in the last few months, he has been doing better and is also a part of the Indian Test Team. Yes, opportunties are limited due to the trio of Ash-Jaddu-Axar, Kuldeep will surely be in picture when it comes to overseas Tests.
