This means that IPL 2023 would be covered by a host of commentators, some of them new and others veterans. In fact, there would be a few recently retired cricketers on the roster. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two players who retired in 2023 and will make their commentatory debut in IPL 2023.
1) Aaron Finch
Aaron Finch had already retired from ODIs and a few weeks ago, the former Aussie skipper also quit T20Is. He has now focussed on T20 leagues and having not bagged an IPL contract, he is now into broadcasting in the IPL. He would be a part of the Star Sports panel that will cover the action on TV. It will be interesting to see how Finch performs, especially when it comes to analysing the tactics on the field. He was also a good batter and there would be a lot of takeaways from his words.
2) Murali Vijay
Murali Vijay is one of the players who retired in 2023 and will make their commentatory debut in IPL 2023. Vijay is one of the best Test openers that India has seen. At his time, he was also excellent in the IPL. However, after missing out on Team India and IPL, he recently announced his retirement from the game. Nevertheless, his fans need not be disappointed as he would be in the com-box this IPL. He would majorly do the honours in the Tamil language.
