IPL franchise owners have also invested in SA20 League. In fact, all the owners in SA20 League also have a franchise in the IPL. As expected, a few of them tried to establish a brand by having some cricketers play for multiple franchises in their ownership. That said, in a few cases, that has not been possible. While they signed them for SA20 League, they later released them from their IPL franchise. These players were not signed again by these teams in the recent IPL auctions. In this article, we take a look at two players who were signed for SA20 and also released in IPL by the same franchise owners for 2023.

1) Jason Holder (Signed by Durban Super Giants but released by Lucknow Super Giants)

Jason Holder played for LSG in IPL 2022. After the Super Giants got the Durban franchise in SA20, they hired the West Indian all-rounder. However, surprisingly, a few weeks later, he was on the list of released players by LSG for IPL 2023. At the auctions, too, LSG did not sign the cricketer. Rajasthan Royals signed Jason Holder. It needs to be seen if the Super Giants would have him in the IPL squad in the next seasons.

2) Corbin Bosch (Signed by Paarl Royals but released by Rajasthan Royals)

Corbin Bosch is one of the players who were signed for SA20 and also released in IPL by the same franchise owners for 2023. The cricketer was part of RR last season and hence, on expected lines, they signed him for the franchise in SA20. However, he was released for IPL 2023 and also did not try to buy him at the auctions. RR had some balance issues with their overseas combination in IPL 2022. However, they seem to have corrected it by getting Jason Holder and by also having some in-form backups such as Joe Root.
