2 teams that have the best chance to win the first season of Women's Premier League
The first edition of the Women's Premier League would start on March 4th. Five teams would be a part of the competition. The auctions were recently held a few weeks ago. All teams have a few gaps but some teams have the depth to overcome them. On that note, in this article, we take a look at two teams that have the best chance to win the first season of the Women's Premier League.
1) UP Warriorz
UP Warriorz made some key signings at the auction by spending very less. They have a solid spin attack comprising the likes of Deepti Sharma, Rajeshwari Gayakwad and Sophie Ecclestone. In the batting department, they can rely on skipper Alyssa Healy and others like Kiran Navgire and Devika Vaidya. They also have Shabnim Ismail, who will lead the pace attack. Overall, it is a squad with good balance and depth and hence, they are one of the favourites to lift the trophy.
2) Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB is one of the teams that have the best chance to win the first season of the Women's Premier League. RCB had a splendid start to the auction, signing Smriti Mandhana, Sophie Devine and Elysse Perry. Later, they added Richa Ghosh and Renuka Singh Thakur, to further strengthen the squad. In the end, the team made some fine signings in the form of Erin Burns and Heather Knight. There are some good performers from domestic cricket such as Indrani Roy, Shreyanka Patil and Disha Kasat. If the team can produce a team performance in every game, they would have a good chance to win the event.
