3 IPL performers whom Team India might sideline

Team India lost in the semis of the 2022 T20 World Cup. With this defeat, drastic changes could happen with respect to Team India. One of them could include valuing the IPL performances a lot lesser. The selectors could rely on domestic cricket to find the talents. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three IPL performers whom Team India might sideline.

1) Dinesh Karthik

If not for his performance in IPL 2022, DK would have nowhere been in the picture for Team India. However, the player travelled to the T20 World Cup and deservedly so, because he did well in the chances he got. That said, the cricketer was not great in the 2022 T20 WC. With his age also being on the wrong side, India may not pick DK again.

2) Harshal Patel

Harshal Patel is one of the IPL performers whom Team India might sideline. Although Harshal did not get a game in the T20 World Cup, India might still choose to move on from him. In the lead-up to the competition, Harshal was in bad form. Moreover, he is a one-phase bowler and if he fails in that, there is hardly any other way that he can contribute to the team. His batting skills are not exactly tested and hence, India might choose to invest in a player like Kuldeep Sen or Umran Malik.

3) Axar Patel

Axar Patel was a major disappointment in the T20 World Cup. Although he got many chances to impress, Axar could not make full use of them. He, too, got his chance in the T20I Team, mainly due to his IPL performances. The management might want to look at someone like R Sai Kishore, who has been prolific in domestic cricket.
