Royal London Cup Indians County

The Royal London One-Day Cup competition will start in August this year. It is an ODI competition for the England and Wales first-class counties. In the past, many Indians have been a part of this tournament. This season also, there will be a few participants from India. In this article, we take a look at three Indian players who will feature in the Royal London One-Day Cup that will be played in England.

1) Cheteshwar Pujara - Sussex

Pujara has been consistently featuring in County Cricket in recent years. While he was part of the Tests for Sussex, he also signed up for the 50-over competition. Although it will be hard for him to get a chance in India's ODI setup, experience in English conditions, irrespective of the format, will always be helpful.

2) Washington Sundar - Lancashire

Washington Sundar is one of the Indian players who will feature in the Royal London One-Day Cup that will be played in England. The young all-rounder has lost out on his place in Team India after frequent injuries and inconsistent performances. It looks as though he is not in the scheme of things for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Hence, naturally, Washi must be targeting the next year's 50-over World Cup. Therefore, he has signed up for Lancashire. It is crucial that he does well in this competition.

3) Krunal Pandya - Warwickshire

Krunal Pandya is the latest Indian to join the competition. The all-rounder is also away from Team India and the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are ahead of him in the pecking order. Hence, Krunal needs to bring the door down with some solid performances in domestic cricket. The upcoming competition will offer a good chance for Krunal to come back into the discussions in the selection meetings.
