3 Players who can be ideal replacement for Rishabh Pant in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy

Rishabh Pant met a terrible car accident on Friday morning on his way to his hometown of Roorkee, in Hardiwar, from Delhi. He dogged off and lost control of the car, which hit the divider and caught fire. He was lucky enough to come out of the burning car.

However, the 25-year-old is out of danger, but he suffered various injuries to his head, right knee, ankle, toe, and back. And as per the medical reports, Pant will take at least 3–6 months to completely recover.

It means that he will be out of action for a certain period of time and will not be part of the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in India, which has left a big hole in India's place because the four-match series against Australia is crucial for India's qualification for the WTC final. There are a few players who can replace him in the series.

1. Abhimanyu Easwaran

Abhimanyu Easwaran is among the top performers for India on the domestic circuit. That is the reason that he is also a key member of India "A" team. He has played 79 first-class games and has 5746 runs to his name at a brilliant average of 46.33 with 19 centuries. He is also leading India "A" squad and has scored 141 and 157 runs in the last four innings. He was part of the Indian squad for Bangladesh as Rohit Sharma's replacement.

2. KS Bharat

Although, KL Rahul can also keep the wickets if required, if India needs another keeper, KS Bharat is the right choice. The Andhra Pradesh batter has scored runs consistently at domestic level and is part of India "A" squad on a regular basis. He has scored 4533 runs in 84 first-class games at 37.46 with nine centuries and 25 half-centuries. Bharat recently scored 132-ball 77 runs against Bangladesh "A." He was also the back-up wicketkeeper for India after Pant. Thus, he might make his debut against Australia.

3. Sanju Samson

Well, it looks a bit tricky but Sanju Samson can be an ideal replacement for Pant in the Border-Gavaskar trophy. Like Pant, Samson is also a naturally aggressive batter and can adjust as per the situation. His numbers in 2022 are good enough to make a mark. Samson has scored 3446 runs in 58 first-class games at an average of 38.71 with 10 hundreds. He registered scores of 82, 69, and 72 in the Ranji Trophy recently.
