3 cricketers who did not play for India in 2022 but might play in 2023

Prithvi Shaw India

Team India is in a transition period right now. Hence, the management is not shying away from trying out some cricketers who were dropped once. We recently saw the return of Jaydev Unadkat in Tests. It won't be a surprise if that happens for other players too. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three cricketers who did not play for India in 2022 but might play in 2023.

1) Prithvi Shaw

IPL 2023 will be a vital tournament for Prithvi Shaw. At the moment, it appears that the management is not considering him. That said, he is exactly the kind of opener that India needs at the moment. Hence, if Shaw can have a good IPL and continues his form, he can get a chance again in the Indian Team, almost two years since he represented India in Sri Lanka.

2) Rahul Chahar

Rahul Chahar is one of the cricketers who did not play for India in 2022 but might play in 2023. The Rajasthan spinner played for India in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Right now, India's leg-spin options include Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. Based on recent selections, it appears that Ravi Bishnoi has fallen down the pecking order. Hence, if Rahul Chahar does well in the IPL, with Chahal and Kuldeep not in their best form in T20Is, Rahul can force a comeback to Team India.

3) Navdeep Saini

Navdeep Saini has been on the fringes of the Indian Team. Saini was part of the squad against Bangladesh in the Tests but he was ruled out for the second game. With workload management now a thing in India and injuries also happening regularly to the regular pacers, it won't be a surprise if Saini plays a game or two for India in 2023.
