3 players part of Legends League Cricket but might play IPL in 2023
Legends League Cricket is a tournament that is reserved for cricketers who are retired or are out of action in mainstream cricket. However, some of the cricketers selected for LLC Season 2 could play in IPL next season, the most competitive T20 league at the moment. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three players who are a part of Legends League Cricket but might play IPL in 2023.
1) Chris Gayle
Chris Gayle had pulled himself out of IPL 2022. However, he has confirmed that he would be available for the next season. Since he is not very active, teams might not be interested in his services. That said, on his day, due to his experience and power, Gayle can win the game for his team. As a brand, too, Gayle could be beneficial for a franchise. Therefore, he stands a chance to earn a contract in IPL.
2) Corey Anderson
Corey Anderson is one of the players who are a part of Legends League Cricket but might play IPL in 2023. The former Kiwi all-rounder is now pursuing the game in the USA. Corey did have a forgettable time in IPL but his profile of being a middle-order left-handed batter who can bowl left-arm seam is rare. If teams are looking at this profile, Corey can surely earn a contract, provided he is in decent form, at least.
3) Imran Tahir
Imran Tahir has not played IPL for a while now. He did not have a contract for IPL 2022. That said, he is an experienced name and could come in as a decent option as the reserve spinner. In this context, it will not be a surprise if he actually turns up in the next season of IPL.
