3 players who can replace Morgan as captain of the limited-overs England team

As per reports, Eoin Morgan will quit captaincy in a few days. One of the most successful skippers that the team has seen, it will be a big blow for England. There are a few reports that claim that he might even announce his retirement from international cricket. Irrespective of that, England will have to search for a new captain. There are plenty of options available for the management. In this article, we take a look at three players who can replace Morgan as captain of the limited-overs England team.

1) Jos Buttler

Jos Buttler will be the logical successor to Eoin Morgan. Whenever the latter has been unavailable, Buttler has stepped up as the skipper. Hence, the management will mostly go with this choice. Add to this, Buttler is in terrific form and will be vital to the team's chances in the upcoming ICC events. His role as a skipper could help the team benefit from his confidence. 

2) Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali is one of the three players who can replace Morgan as captain of the limited-overs England team. If the management does not want Jos Buttler's form to be disturbed by captaincy, they could pick Moeen Ali. The all-rounder has captained a few games for his country. He has a calm head on his shoulders and would be a good choice to lead the squad in the transition period until the 50-over World Cup in 2023.

3) Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes is already the captain of the Test Team and it would not be a bad idea to ask him to do the honours in the other two formats, as well.
