3 players who might replace Aaron Finch as Australia ODI captain

Aaron Finch has announced his retirement from ODI cricket. The board is yet to announce his replacement as the skipper. There are plenty of options for Australia, though. On that note, in this article, we take a look at 3 players who might replace Aaron Finch as Australia's ODI captain.

1) Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins is the skipper of the Test squad and it is likely that he will take over the reins from Finch in ODI cricket, too. The tall pacer is a consistent part of the ODI setup and keeping the 2023 ODI World Cup in mind, he can be a suitable option. That said, there could be a discussion on his workload and if the management thinks captaincy might put pressure on Cummins, the responsibility could go to others.

2) Steve Smith

Steve Smith is one of the players who might replace Aaron Finch as Australia's ODI captain. The team's premier batter has led the team in the past. Although in T20Is, his position in the XI can come under the scanner, he is a sure-shot inclusion in ODIs.
