3 teams that can do well in IPL 2023 even without using the 'Impact Player' rule
Impact Player is one rule that teams will look to exploit from IPL 2023. Although this rule can change games drastically, a few franchises could also do without it. This is mainly because they had constructed their teams without keeping this in mind in IPL 2022 Auctions. On that note, in this article, we take a look at 3 teams that can do well in IPL 2023 even without using the 'Impact Player' rule.
1) Lucknow Super Giants
LSG is one of the teams that can do well in IPL 2023 even without using the 'Impact Player' rule. The franchise is known for its flexibility because of the all-rounders that the team has. In Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis and Krunal Pandya, LSG has a strong core of players who can contribute to both departments. Hence, they can do well, like last year, even without the new rule.
2) Chennai Super Kings
MS Dhoni's team construction philosophy involved having a lot of all-rounders. In IPL 2023 Auctions, they added premier all-rounder Ben Stokes to the already brilliant list comprising Moeen Ali and Ravindra Jadeja. In Deepak Chahar and Dwaine Pretorius, the team would also get brilliant batting depth. Hence, they can do well even if they don't use the Impact Player substitution. That said, MS Dhoni is a top tactician and he would make a massive use of the option on the table.
3) Gujarat Titans
Gujarat Titans had a few issues with batting depth last season. However, Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan stepped up for them. If Rashid Khan plays at No.7 again and with R Sai Kishore at No.8, GT will have brilliant depth with the bat and also with the ball because Hardik Pandya at No.4 would also give four overs. Therefore, they can go ahead and play IPL 2023 even without making use of the new rule.
