3 teams that could surprisingly bid for Ajinkya Rahane in IPL 2023 Auctions

Ajinkya Rahane did not have a great outing in IPL 2022. Although he has been decent in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, teams may not be interested in him due to his current IPL form. Nevertheless, a few teams could still go for the veteran. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three teams that could surprisingly bid for Ajinkya Rahane in IPL 2023 Auctions.

1) Mumbai Indians

The form and fitness of Rohit Sharma are a concern for Mumbai Indians. They also do not have a lot of experienced domestic batters who can replace Rohit if he is unfit. At INR 50L, Rahane would be an apt fit to be Rohit's backup. He could also captain the squad in Rohit's absence. Moreover, being a homegrown cricketer, the fans would also be thrilled to see Rahane come back to his first IPL franchise.

2) Sunrisers Hyderabad

SRH is one of the teams that could surprisingly bid for Ajinkya Rahane in IPL 2023 Auctions. While Mayank Agarwal will be one of the primary targets for SRH, if they can't get him, they can try Rahane. He would be a similar player to Williamson but Rahane is a domestic option and can also be dropped without any concerns.
