3 teams that could target Shardul Thakur if he is released by Delhi Capitals

As per reports, Delhi Capitals is all set to release Shardul Thakur into the auctions. The Mumbai cricketer had an underwhelming campaign in IPL 2022. He also had an expensive price tag and hence, DC might release him. However, there would still be a few teams that will be interested in his services. In this article, we take a look at three teams that could target Shardul Thakur if Delhi Capitals release him.

1) Chennai Super Kings

It was while he was in CSK that Shardul became popular. It will not be a surprise if CSK targets the player again. The likes of Simarjeet Singh and Mukesh Choudhary are available but they lack experience. In Shardul, CSK will get a proven customer and will also have the batting depth increased.

2) Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians are one of the teams that could target Shardul Thakur if Delhi Capitals release him. Basil Thampi and Jaydev Unadkat both failed to be the ideal domestic pace partner for Bumrah last season. If Shardul is available, MI will try to target him. They will then get a player whom they can depend on in the middle overs. Shardul also adds batting depth, an aspect that was missing in the MI XI last season.
