3 teams that will benefit the most from the 'Impact Player' rule in IPL

'Impact Player' IPL

IPL has announced a new rule from IPL 2023. As part of the 'Impact Player' rule, teams would now be able to select four substitiutes, out of which, one of them would get to play the game. This rule will definitely change the dynamics of the game. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three teams that will benefit the most from the 'Impact Player' rule in IPL.

1) Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals struggled with their balance in IPL 2022. At times, they had to use only three foreigners with R Ashwin playing at No.7. However, now, they can afford to have four proper bowlers because they get one substitute. This substitute can be a specialist batter who can be replaced with a suitable player during the course of the game. Hence, this rule will be helpful for the IPL 2022 finalists.

2) Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings is one of the teams that will benefit the most from the 'Impact Player' rule in IPL. PBKS also had some issues with their balance in IPL 2022. They did not have a genuine all-rounder, which affected their prospects. Also, they lost steam early in the batting innings which led to a mediocre show at the death with the bat. These issues could be sorted out with the 'Impact Player' rule.

3) Sunrisers Hyderabad

Barring the batters until No.5, SRH did not get much batting contribution from the lower middle-order. SRH has four good Indian bowlers but they were unable to make use of this due to the team balance. However, they can now address issues if they have another player who can be used within the game. Therefore, this rule will also help them.
