3 teams that will have death bowling issues in IPL 2023

KKR IPL 2023

Constructing bowling attacks is a key task for each franchise. It is the balance in this department that will define the fate of all the teams. Death bowling must be good or else, teams could also lose games from a winning position. However, some teams do not have the best bowling attack during this phase. On that note, in this article, we take a look at three teams that will have death bowling issues in IPL 2023.

1) Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR is one of the teams that will have death bowling issues in IPL 2023. Shardul Thakur, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Andre Russel and Umesh Yadav are some of the pacers who could operate at the death for KKR. Even with the Impact Player Rule, KKR could struggle to find a reliable option. Hence, we might see Sunil Narine also bowl after the 16th over.

2) Chennai Super Kings

Dwayne Bravo retired from IPL and that leaves a huge hole in the CSK bowling attack. Deepak Chahar could leak a few runs while Mukesh Choudhary and Ben Stokes are not known for their bowling in the death overs. Dwaine Pretorius is a must but even he is only one season old in the IPL. Therefore, this would be a grey area for the franchise.

3) Rajasthan Royals

RR is also one of the teams that will have death bowling issues in IPL 2023. Having hired Jason Holder, RR will be forced to play him for the squad balance. That would mean leaving out Obed McCoy, who was good for the franchise in the death overs last season. Prasidh Krishna is coming back from an injury while Boult has lost his sheen in the death. Hence, RR might actually have a few issues with their death bowling.
