4 CSK players who are currently out of form
Chennai Super Kings did not enjoy a memorable campaign in IPL 2022. Hence, the team will look to improve its performance in IPL 2023. For that, all players need to step up. However, some of them are low on confidence right now. In this article, we take a look at four CSK players who are currently out of form.
Batting was an issue for CSK last season. However, with the arrival of Ben Stokes and the return to the confidence of Ravindra Jadeja, this issue can be sorted. That said since Dwayne Bravo has retired, death bowling will be a major concern. It needs to be seen how the franchise will tackle this.
1) Dwaine Pretorius
The South African all-rounder recently retired from international cricket. Hence, he is active only in the T20 leagues. Recently, he played in SA20. Representing DSG, he was in poor form as he picked up just 10 wickets in 9 games. Moreover, his economy was 10, which is a bad number for a player of his experience. With the bat, too, Dwaine was not regular with his contributions. CSK is highly dependent on the player for bowling at the death. Hence, the pre-season camp will be extremely crucial.
2) Moeen Ali
Moeen Ali is one of the CSK players who are currently out of form. Moeen's most recent involvement was in the International League T20. Captaining Sharjah Warriors, he scored 76 runs in 7 games. His strike rate was just above 100. With the ball, as well, Moeen did not have a great outing. CSK needs Moeen to fire at No.3 and hence, his form will be vital for the team's chances in the competition. Moeen will be further needed at Chepauk, which is a pitch that assists the spinners.
3) Prashant Solanki
After representing CSK last season, the Mumbai leg-spinner has hardly played any domestic cricket. Even in the games that he played, he came out with disappointing performances. There could be an injury issue but not much information is available. Considering he is the first-choice leg-spinner for CSK, it is important that Solanki starts doing well.
4) Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu is also one of the CSK players who are currently out of form. It was surprising that CSK retained Rayudu before IPL 2023 Auctions. Before this domestic season, he signed up for Baroda. Barring a few good performances, Rayudu was not seen in great form. However, CSK would not worry a lot about it as Rayudu is always capable of bringing out those impact knocks.
