Being the Head Coach of an IPL franchise is a prestigious role. Individuals like Stephen Fleming have held the role for over a decade now. However, a few of them also have assignments outside the IPL. In this article, we take a look at four IPL Head Coaches who also have assignments outside of IPL.

Since IPL takes up around 2 months of the year, all the members need not be occupied throughout the year. Of course, involvement will be required during the auctions but there is definitely time available to take up another role elsewhere. This experience might also help them in the IPL.

1) Andy Flower (Lucknow Super Giants)

Andy Flower is one of the IPL Head Coaches who also have assignments outside of IPL. The former Zimbabwe cricketer is arguably one of the best coaches going around. He is a serial trophy winner and did really well for LSG in IPL 2022. Apart from the IPL, Flower has important assignments in the Pakistan Super League and the Hundred. He also takes up opportunities in the T10 Leagues. All of this has made him a popular coach in these circles.

2) Chandrakant Pandit (Kolkata Knight Riders)

After Brendon McCullum took over England Test Team, KKR needed a replacement. They hired a serial winner in domestic cricket - Chandrakant Pandit. Interestingly, even after his appointment, Chandrakant Pandit continued to work for Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy. There are reports that Tamil Nadu has approached him for their red-ball team, too. Hence, the former India player falls on this list.

3) Trevor Bayliss (Punjab Kings)

Trevor Bayliss is also one of the IPL Head Coaches who also have assignments outside of IPL. Punjab Kings have named Trevor Bayliss as their new Head Coach. Trevor has previously won the IPL with KKR. The coach also has experience with the England squad and also in the BBL. He was the interim coach for London Spirit in the Hundred. Hence, he is a part of this list.

4) Stephen Fleming (Chennai Super Kings)

Fleming has been with CSK for a very long time. When CSK was banned, Fleming was with the Rising Pune Supergiants. The owners of CSK brought a franchise in the SA20 and named it Joburg Super Kings. Stephen Fleming is also the Head Coach of that franchise. The team had a good outing in SA20. They have identified some fine talent, some of whom can also represent CSK in the future.
