He made his ODI debut back in 2004. In the same year, a few other Indian players made their debut in 50-over cricket. 1) Irfan Pathan

2) Rohan Gavaskar

Son of the legendary Sunil Gavaskar, Rohan Gavaskar is one of the Indian cricketers who made their ODI debut in the same year as MS Dhoni. However, the southpaw was able to play only 11 ODI games for the country. At the moment, Rohan happens to be a popular commentator and presenter covering Indian domestic cricket and other tournaments.

3) Dinesh Karthik

DK is one talented player who lost out on opportunities because MS Dhoni was in the squad. Nevertheless, he did play a few matches for India. An in-form player in IPL 2022, there are chances that he might force a return to Team India. Many are proposing his name to be included in the squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. 4) Ramesh Powar

An off-spinner who could bat, Ramesh Powar did well in a few games that he played for India. Playing overall a total of 31 ODI encounters for the men in blue, after retirement, Ramesh took to coaching. He is the current Head Coach of the Indian Women's Cricket Team.

5) Joginder Sharma

Joginder Sharma is also one of the Indian cricketers who made their ODI debut in the same year as MS Dhoni. The all-rounder is famous for his last over in the finals of the 2007 T20 World Cup. Joginder went on to play only 4 ODI games for the country. Currently, unlike most of the other cricketers, Joginder is away from the sport. He is in the police department.
