5 duos of pacers who can replace Bumrah-Harshal if they are not available for the 2022 T20 World Cup
Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel are both injured at the moment. There have been reports that they might not get fit by the 2022 T20 World Cup. In this article, we take a look at five duos of pacers who can replace Bumrah-Harshal if they are not available for the 2022 T20 World Cup.
It needs to be noted that Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh were certain to be picked as the four pacers with Hardik Pandya as the fifth option for the 2022 T20 World Cup. However, with two of them injured right now, it will be hard for the management to construct the bowling attack. Nevertheless, there are quite a few options for the selectors. We look at five pairs of bowlers who could replace Bumrah-Harshal at T20 WC.
1) Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar
Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar are one of the duos of pacers who can replace Bumrah-Harshal if they are not available for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Shami was said to be outside of the plans for the T20 WC. However, if Bumrah misses out, Shami would be needed for his experience. Deepak Chahar would be returning back to the squad and he might also get selected if he does well in the forthcoming tournaments.
2) Avesh Khan and Mohammed Shami
Avesh Khan has been used by India in recent months. In Australia, bowlers like Avesh will be useful because they hit the deck hard. However, he lacks experience. Hence, in order to complement the attack, Shami could be picked for his experience.
3) Mohammed Siraj and Avesh Khan
Siraj and Avesh are also one of the duos of pacers who can replace Bumrah-Harshal if they are not available for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Siraj might be out of the T20I Team but he is doing well in ODIs. The pacer has shown that he can pick wickets at the start and also nail the yorkers at the death. If he is in form, he would be the perfect replacement for Bumrah. Avesh would then be a backup for Siraj in the squad.
4) Deepak Chahar and Avesh Khan
This is likely to be the choice that the management might make. Avesh Khan has been backed by the management for a while now. Deepak Chahar is slowly returning to prime fitness. If he is available, he willcome in handy in Australia.
5) Mohammed Shami and Umran Malik
It won't be a surprise if Shami and Umran combination is also a part of this list of pairs of pacers who can replace Bumrah-Harsha for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Umran has been sidelined from the Indian T20 XI. Nevertheless, for his raw pace, he can still get selected. Shami would then be needed in the squad as the powerplay partner for Bhuvi with Arshdeep taking care of the death overs.
