India squad vs West indies

A 16-member team for India's three-match ODI series against the West Indies, which starts on July 22, was announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Wednesday. For the 50-over format, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested. Shikhar Dhawan will captain the side and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been chosen as vice-captain.

Many young players are given opportunities and also some players were unlucky not to get called up for the national team. Here is the list of 5 players who were unlucky to miss out in the Indian squad.

5. Mohsin Khan

After a fantastic season with the ball for Lucknow SuperGiants with the ball, this young talented bowler was one of the main players who were very unlucky to miss out on the Indian squad. He bowled beautifully with the new ball and was always very economical when he finished his spell. Even Many Cricket experts wanted him in the Indian squad for the recently concluded series against South Africa but it looks like he will have to wait for his opportunity.

4. Umran Malik

Umran Malik was one of the stars for the Indian team in the India tour of Ireland series where Hardik Pandya led the side. In the second T20I he defended 17 runs in the last over successfully to give India a series win. He was capable of bowling above 150kmph consistently. This kind of talent is very rare to find in India. He was one of the major left out in this Indian squad.

3. Rahul Tripathi

Rahul Tripathi had a stellar IPL season with the bat for SunRisers Hyderabad. Even Though SRH failed to qualify for the playoffs in IPL 2022, Rahul Tripathi contributed for the team in every way he can. Looks like Rahul tripathi’s batting position in the team is the only obstacle he faces now. He’s competing for a place with the likes of Virat Kohli and SuryaKumar Yadav. With Shreyas Iyer already in the squad as a backup option, it is always tough for Rahul Tripathi to get a chance.

2. Rahul Tewatia

Rahul Tewatia will be further dejected by this decision from the BCCI.  Rahul Tewatia was one of the main reasons for the IPL 2022 Champions Gujarat Titans getting many last over wins. Rahul Tewatia mainly played as a finisher for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 and he did that job successfully. With Ravindra Jadeja back in the ODI squad it will be hard for another finisher to get a place in the team.

1. Sarfaraz Khan

Sarfaraz Khan was the only player who is very unlucky not to be in the Indian squad. His stellar performance in the Ranji trophy deserves him a spot in the Indian team. Like Rahul Tripathi there are many middle order batsmen like Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer all waiting for their chance.
