5 players who might make IPL debut as an Impact Player

Impact Player is one of the important tactics that the teams will use in IPL 2023. In fact, a few cricketers might feature next season only as an Impact Substitution. On that note, in this article, we take a look at five players who might make an IPL debut as an Impact Player.

This rule is almost equivalent to teams making use of 12 players in an XI. This is a great opportunity to add more balance to the squad, thereby leading to a better competition on the field. Some top cricketers might also come as Impact Players in IPL 2023.

1) Yash Dhull

Yash Dhull is one of the players who might make an IPL debut as an Impact Player. The Indian U19 World Cup-winning skipper did not get a chance with Delhi Capitals last season. However, with Rishabh Pant getting injured, Yash Dhull could fancy a few games. Especially with the Impact Substitution available, Yash might be used when DC loses a few early wickets.

2) Avinash Singh

RCB would need another pacer in the line-up and preferably someone with raw pace. With the new rule, they can introduce their new recruit, Avinash Singh. He can operate in the middle-overs and give insurance in case the likes of Harshal Patel go for more runs.

3) Vidwath Kaverappa

Vidwath Kaverappa is also one of the players who might make an IPL debut as an Impact Player. The Karnataka lad has shown his skills while bowling in the powerplay. By restricting Arshdeep Singh to the death, Punjab Kings can make use of Vidwath as a powerplay bowler. This would also allow the skipper to make more use of Sam Curran and Kagiso Rabada in other phases of the game.

4) Shams Mulani

Mumbai Indians lack an experienced spinner who can be a part of the XI. Hence, they could look to use the Impact Player rule to have some spinners on the field. Since Shams Mulani can do well with his four overs of left-arm off-spin, he can be a good choice for the franchise.

5) Rajvardhan Hangargekar

The CSK youngster is also one of the cricketers who might make an IPL debut as an Impact Player. Last year, despite Deepak Chahar's injury, he did not get a chance to make his debut. Nevertheless, having done well in domestic cricket this season, he could expect an IPL cap next season. Since he is a sort of a powerplay specialist, he could be used as an Impact Player.
