"ABD was ahead of Suryakumar"- Ifran Pathan's blunt take on comparison of AB de Villiers and Suryakumar Yadav
India suffered a 16-run win in the second T20I against Sri Lanka at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Thursday. Chasing the target of 207, India reached 190/8 and lost the game. For India, Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel scored half centuries each.

There was a good cameo of 15-ball 26 from Shivam Mavi as well, but all went in vain. Axar scored his maiden fifty off just 20 balls and made 65 off 31, with six maximums and three fours. SKY scored 51 off 36 balls with three sixes and three fours.

However, India could reach the target, and Sri Lanka has levelled the series at 1-1. Suryakumar continued his good form and registered yet another fifty. Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan praised the Mumbai batter and also shared his views on the famous comparison of SKY with AB de Villiers.

In an interaction with Star Sports after the second game, Pathan said that it is very difficult to compare two individuals but admitted that ABD had more powers than Suryakumar. He further explained that De Villiers was more powerful when it is about hitting over long-off or covers regularly.

Irfan said, "I feel AB de Villiers had more power. He was ahead of Suryakumar Yadav. If we talk about Jos Buttler, he has comparatively much more power, if you talk about range hitting. But if you talk about the range, Suryakumar Yadav has a bigger one - he can play the cut, hit over covers, mid-wicket, and play the sweep.

However, the former all-rounder admitted that it will be very difficult for India to find a better batsman than SKY in the middle overs. He added that Suryakumar can play both kinds of sweeps behind and in front of wickets, which makes him impossible to bowl at.

Irfan said that despite having less power compared to other power hitters, Suryakumar had a bigger hitting range, which is why he is the best at what he does on the field. The Indian star will be seen in action during the third T20I against Sri Lanka on Saturday in Rajkot.
