Aakash Chopra believes that even though Axar Patel's bowling performance may not have been so special in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, he can become a wicket-taking option in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.

Let us tell you, Axar Patel has not been included in the Indian team's squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. The Asia's biggest cricket event will be played in UAE from 27 August. However, Patel's name has been included as one of the three backup players for the tournament. Along with this, he is also in the plan of the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2022.

Axar Patel didn't had a greatly outstanding performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, but he has been great for the Indian team and has proved his worth every time he got an opportunity.

Meanwhile, even though he has not been picked for the Asia Cup 2022, former cricketer and now a cricket analyst, Aakash Chopra believes that Axar Patel is very well in the plan for the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Sharing a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra emphasized the spinners who can be included in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup. Regarding Axar Patel along with Ravichandran Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav, Chopra said, "Axar Patel – he has played 13 matches if we see from the last World Cup. He has picked up 12 wickets in these matches at an economy of around 8, strike rate is not bad."

However, he still felt confused about it. He said, "Once again – Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin – it doesn’t seem all three of these bowlers will give you one to one-and-a-half wickets in every match. That will not happen, they might give you one wicket in two matches, or two in three, something like that."
