After Shaheen Afridi, another star pacer for Pakistan ruled out of Asia Cup 2022, PCB named veteran pacer as replacement
The Asia Cup 2022 is a day away. The tournament will kick off on Saturday, August 27 with a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan at Dubai International Stadium. The mega clash between India and Pakistan, on the other hand, will take place the following day.

India will lock horns with Pakistan on Sunday, August 28 at the same venue. The hype for the game has already reached its maximum.

However, both teams were dealt a big setback when their premium pacers were ruled out of the tournament. Shaheen Afridi for Pakistan and Jasprit Bumrah for India suffered injuries and were forced to leave the tournament.

And now, the Men in Green have faced another major setback, as their other pacer has been ruled out of the Asia Cup 2022, that too just a couple of days ahead of the match against India. On Wednesday, Mohammad Wasim Jr. sustained an injury while practising with the team in nets.

He left the practice session and later it was confirmed in a scan by the medical team. As per the statement released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the pacer will miss the tournament and he will be under the medical team for rehabilitation.

However, as a replacement, the selection committee has named veteran pacer Hasan Ali, who was dropped from the team due to bad form. He will now feature in the tournament. While Mohammad Hasnain was named as the replacement for Shaheen Afridi.

Hasan, who has spent more time in the National Performance Centre over the last three weeks working on his bowling form, will now lead Pakistan's pace attack. The veteran pacer will soon travel to the UAE to join the team for the tournament.
