If reports are to be believed, Aaron Finch may announce his retirement from ODI cricket after the third ODI vs New Zealand. Even though Australia won the series, the Aussie has not been at his best this year and has been struggling to score runs.

Australia won the first ODI by 2 wickets while in the second ODI, they beat New Zealand by 113 runs. Even though Australia have performed tremendously in both the matches, the performance of team captain Aaron Finch has been very disappointing in this series.

If the report is to be believed, the team's limited overs captain Aaron Finch can make a big announcement regarding his cricketing future on Saturday, September 10.

Aaron Finch's performance this year has been quite disappointing. He has been out for zero 5 times in 2022. He has scored only 5 runs in two matches of this series. If reports are to be believed, Aaron Finch may announce his retirement from ODI cricket after the third ODI.

The biggest concern for the Australia team at the moment is the form of Aaron Finch. This is because the scores of his last 7 ODIs have been 0,5,5,1,15,0 and 0. Former Australia captain Michael Clarke also believes that the team will now look at other options for ODI cricket as well. Although he believes that Aaron Finch will be seen with the team for the T20 World Cup.

According to Fox Cricket, Michael Clarke said in The Big Sports Breakfast that, 'There is no doubt that now he needs to score runs. You can't drop Aaron Finch from the T20 World Cup squad, but now if he doesn't score runs even in the last ODI match, his ODI career could be completely over. But I believe in T20 cricket, the team will still start with him."

Now it has to be seen whether in this big tournament, Australia team gets the out of form Aaron Finch to open or give another player a chance in his place.
