Babar Azam breaks another massive record, becomes the fastest Asian batter to do so
Pakistani skipper, Babar Azam has been in the form of his life. Match after match and innings after innings, he is breaking every batting record.
Pakistan is on the tour of Sri Lanka for the two-match Test series. The first match of the series is underway with the hosts batting first and getting all out for 222.
In reply, the visitors are also finding it hard to play against the spinners. But one man that is looking solid as ever is the skipper of Pakistan, Babar Azam. He is the lone warrior from the camp of the visitors and has made another record on the second day of the ongoing match.
Babar has now become the fastest Pakistani batter and the fastest Asian to complete 10,000 runs at international level across the format. He achieved this massive feat in his 228th innings. Earlier, Virat Kohli had this record as an Asian batter, who did it in 232 innings.

On the other hand, speaking of Pakistani players, the previous record was held by legendary batsman Javed Miandad, who had this in 255 international innings, while Mohammad Yousuf completed it in 261 innings for Pakistan.
The Pakistani skipper is currently ranked at No. 4 in the Test batsman rankings. He is just behind Joe Root, Marnus Labuschagne, and Steve Smith. Babar is 14 rating points ahead of the Indian wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant. Speaking of the overall record, he is now the fifth fastest batsman to achieve this feat.
The fastest is the legendary West Indies player, Sir Viv Richards, who made 10,000 runs in just 206 innings. Next on the list is former South African opener, Hashim Amla, who had it in 217 innings across the formats.
While Brain Lara (220 innings) and Joe Root (222 innings) are next on the list, speaking of the match summary between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the visitors have lost their nine wickets with another 70 runs to trail.
Babar is adding some valuable runs with the tailenders. Pakistan would like him to add as many runs as possible to stay in the game.
