"Beech mein to ye bhi Khabar thi ke main mar gaya hoon"- Indian star makes a shocking statement at pre-match conference
India started their Asia Cup 2022 campaign with a win over their arch rivals Pakistan on Sunday. The Men in Blue defeated Pakistan by five wickets in a close game. In a tricky chase, India made a surprise move by promoting spin-bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja up the order at No. 4.

However, it paid off in the end, as the all-rounder played an important innings of 35 off 29 balls with two fours and two sixes and added a vital 52 runs for the fifth wicket with Hardik Pandya to help India reach the target. Although he got out to the first ball of the last over, he did his part and India were within touching distance of victory.

India will now face Hong Kong in their next match on Wednesday, August 31 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. However, just ahead of the match, Jadeja came out to attend the pre-match conference and made some shocking statements.

Notably, following the conclusion of the Indian Premier League 2022, speculation about a rift between Jadeja and the Chennai Super Kings grew as the all-rounder was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a rib injury. As per some other reports, it was also reported that he was not happy with the franchise over the captain's removal.

Some other rumours also claimed that the all-rounder is likely to skip the World Cup as well. He was asked by one of the journalists whether such rumours had affected him or not. To that, the all-rounder replied that he is not at all bothered by all this.

Jadeja said, “This is a very small rumor - that I am not going to play in the World Cup. Beech mein khabar aayi thi ke main mar gaya hoon (In between, there were reports that I had died). What could be a bigger news than that? I don’t think about all these things. I just go out and play the game.”

The all-rounder was injured at the start of this year and also missed half of the IPL 2022, which sparked much speculation that he would not be part of the T20 World Cup. So his statement came based on that rumour only.

However, he didn't reveal where and when he got this news from. But he accepted the fact that it was just a rumour and there was nothing like this. Jadeja will be seen in action in India's next match against Hong Kong on Wednesday.
