Best T20 XI of cricketers who do not have a BCCI contract right now

BCCI Contract

BCCI contract is handed out yearly to honour the commitment of the Indian cricketers. However, not all players get this contract. The other players who make their debut after the contracts are given also tend to become an important part of the squad. In this article, we take a look at the best T20 XI of cricketers who do not have a BCCI contract right now.

For a while now, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have got the highest-grade contract. We might see a change in this with names such as Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul also close to the top contract. There would also be many new names in the next list by BCCI.

Openers: Rahul Tripathi and Prithvi Shaw

Rahul Tripathi and Prithvi Shaw are the openers in this best T20 XI of cricketers who do not have a BCCI contract right now. The Maharashtra opener has been with Team India for a while now. Yet, he has not made his debut. However, in the upcoming home season, he could play a few games. Prithvi Shaw has played in all formats but he is far away from Team India. He is a talented opener and India needs to integrate him at the earliest.

Middle-Order: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson (WK)

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been in stunning form in recent months, especially in ODIs. He will play at No.3 while the core of the middle order will comprise Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. It is expected that both of these players will get their due in the next contract list. India will have one of these two players consistently take part in ODIs and T20Is from now.

All-Rounders: Deepak Hooda and Shahbaz Ahmed

Deepak Hooda and Shahbaz Ahmed are the all-rounders in this T20 XI of cricketers who do not have a BCCI contract right now. Deepak Hooda has played in both white-ball formats and is seen as a backup for the No.3 and No.4 roles. Shahbaz Ahmed has just been drafted into the Indian squad. He has a lot of competition to face. If the West Bengal all-rounder does well domestically again, he could be in for a long stint in the Indian Team.

Bowlers: Harshal Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh

Harshal Patel made his debut at the end of 2021. Hence, he was not given a contract. The same is the case with Ravi Bishnoi. India should start integrating Bishnoi as early as possible into the T20I squad. This will help India in the long run. Umran Malik and Arshdeep will form a vital part of the pace attack for India in the future. They are also likely to get their contracts soon.
