Best XI of Indian players who were not selected for the 2022 T20 World Cup
India has brilliant depth when it comes to men's cricket. IPL is one of the main reasons for the same. It is not possible for all players to get a chance in events such as the T20 World Cup. In this article, we take a look at the best XI of Indian players who were not selected for the 2022 T20 World Cup.
India's squad for the 2022 T20 WC was announced on Monday. A few talented players could not get a chance in the team. All such players combined would make a strong XI. We take a look at this XI in the below headings. Before that, here is a look at the squad selected for the event.
India's squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul (VC), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, R Pant (WK), Dinesh Karthik (WK), Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Y Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, B Kumar, Harshal Patel, and Arshdeep Singh. Standby Players: Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami.
Openers: Ishan Kishan (WK) and Prithvi Shaw
Ishan Kishan and Prithvi Shaw will be the openers in the best XI of Indian players who were not selected for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Ishan Kishan played in the 2021 T20 WC but missed the bus for the upcoming event. Rather than form, it has more to do with the form of players such as Deepak Hooda and Dinesh Karthik, which did not give a chance for Ishan in the team. Prithvi Shaw may not be in the team but he is one of the best openers in the country. If he fixes his fitness issues, he can be the best in India.
Middle-Order: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rahul Tripathi and Sanju Samson
Ruturaj Gaikwad opened for India when the seniors were not there. However, he will play as the No.3 in this squad. Shreyas Iyer has been with the squad for a while and this time, too, he will act as one of the standby players. Rahul Tripathi will operate in a middle-order role because the top-order is already occupied. The Maharashtra cricketer has the skills to excel in any batting role. The same is the case with Sanju Samson, who will consider himself very unlucky after missing out on the T20 World Cup squad.
All-Rounders: Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja will miss the 2022 T20 World Cup due to an injury. Hence, he has not been selected for the event. Therefore, he features on this list.
Bowlers: Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami and Ravi Bishnoi
It will be a strong bowling unit for the best XI of Indian players who were not selected for the 2022 T20 World Cup. Three of these four cricketers will be standby cricketers for the event. Avesh Khan has also been in the squad for the last few months. He was an option but the wicket-taking ability of Kuldeep Yadav makes the wrist spinner a better fit in the XI.
