Mumbai Indians' Suryakumar Yadav ruled out of remainder of IPL 2022 due to major injury

Big-blow for Mumbai Indians, Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the IPL 2022

Just before the start of the 56th fixture of the TATA IPL 2022 between Mumbai Indains and Kolkata Knight Riders, the five-time champions were dealt with a major blow, as their star batsman, Suryakumar Yadav, has been ruled out of the competition and he will not be part of the remaining matches.

The news was confirmed with an official release on Monday, and an IPL official confirmed that Suryakumar will miss the rest of the season due to a left forearm muscle injury he suffered in the last match against Gujarat Titans. The 31-year-old has been exceptional with his bat this season for the Mumbai Indians. He has scored 303 runs in just eight matches at an average of 43.09 and also has three half-centuries to his name.

He also missed the first few matches due to his injury, and he was in rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. But since he joined the team, he's made an impact with his batting. On the other hand, MI, who are sitting at the bottom of the table, are already out of the competition.

The Rohit Sharma-led team became the first team to get eliminated from the competition and faced eight straight losses in the competition. Notably, they won the last two matches, played good cricket and have shown some great form. But this will be a big blow for them, as the 31-year-old had a significant impact on the batting lineup of Mumbai.

The Mumbai Indians are left with four matches to play. The match against KKR is underway, and then they will play three more matches. MI will play against their arch rivals, CSK, on Thursday. Then they will face SRH on May 17th. The last match will be against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, May 21 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
