In the game between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on Thursday, MS Dhoni came out as the star with a vintage finish. He scored 16 runs in the last four balls to give his side the second victory of the season. It was a terrific show by the veteran. After this performance, former India cricketer RP Singh had a special request for MSD. We take a look at it in this article.

RP Singh wants MSD to come out of retirement

MS Dhoni's performance against Mumbai was right out of the top drawer. Hence, it has triggered various reactions on social media. One of MSD's good friends RP Singh has opined that the player must come out of retirement for the T20 World Cup to be held later this year in Australia. Here is what the former India pacer had to say:

Many players are auditioning for the finisher's role in Team India

RP Singh's opinion was not received well by a few. Considering MSD was India's mentor at the last event, it is almost improbable that he will play in the next one. Moreover, India has multiple other players who are performing consistently well for this slot. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Dinesh Karthik have all been terrific this season. However, RP's reaction felt more to be due to the situation and the kind of performance by the legend.

Finishing is a tough role and India has been struggling in this regard ever since MS Dhoni left the scene. However, there are players doing well now and the fans will want consistent performances by them.
