Daniel Vettori suggests Hardik Pandya’s best batting position in the Indian team

In light of the current core of players and their performance in the most recent edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), New Zealand legend Vettori has provided some suggestions to the Indian management. If Hardik Pandya can be slotted in at No. 4, Vettori believes it will be the 'ideal' situation for India.

It is the best position for Pandya, according to Vettori, and the Indian management should consider it. Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shreyas Iyer have all been tested in that position, but the Men in Blue are yet to make a definite decision on who should bat in the crucial middle-order slot.

"I think you should go for it if you can fit him in at No. 4." That is the ideal situation for him. You don't want to take anything from Suryakumar Yadav's achievements. However, if this option is available, it will be fantastic. "As of now, it appears that he'll slot into No. 5, with Pant maybe dropping to No. 6," Vettori told ESPNcricinfo.

Many new and familiar faces were given opportunities in the Indian Premier League to make their mark on the platform and earn a spot in the Indian side. While Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh were called up to the Indian squad following successful IPL seasons with their respective franchises, Dinesh Karthik, Kuldeep Yadav, and Hardik Pandya were recalled to the T20I squad.

As the T20 World Cup approaches, the Indian team management will be seeking to fine-tune their lineup, and the next home series against South Africa presents them with an opportunity to do so. India will play five Twenty20 Internationals against the Proteas starting June 9, following which they will travel to England for a white-ball series, as well as finish the fifth Test that was postponed last year.
