Aakash Chopra, a former player for India who is now a seasoned analyst, has chosen his probable Team India XI for their Asia Cup 2022 campaign opening against Pakistan. From August 27 to September 11, the Asia Cup will be held in the United Arab Emirates. On Monday, August 8, the 15-player Indian team was chosen by the selectors.

Chopra stated in a video posted on his YouTube channel, "It appears that it has been discussed that KL Rahul would open the batting and Virat Kohli will bat third. No issue at all, this is what you want in the long run”. He also said that since every other team in the Asia Cup will have a leg spinner and Rishabh Pant will be crucial for team India to attack the leg spinners. So Surya and Rishabh Pant will make the middle order for team India.

He also said Deepak Hooda will play as a floater for team India in playing 11. So Dinesh Karthik might miss out in the playing 11. Since Deepak Hooda gives that extra bowling option he might be preferred. Since his comeback to the team, Dinesh Karthik has routinely performed well as a finisher. However, it will be challenging to include him in the starting XI with every batter being available. Additionally, he mentioned that Team India might start Deepak Hooda.

He also said Jadeja and Chahal will play as two spinners along with the part timer Deepak Hooda and Hardik Pandya will play as an all rounder. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh might play as two front line fast bowlers. He concluded by saying Avesh Khan has to wait as things stand right now.
