The grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season will be played on 29 May at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. After which, the Indian team will once again be busy with International cricket resuming.

The team will first play a 5-match T20 International series against South Africa on home soil, the first match of which is to be played on June 9.

But, according to reports that are coming out, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) may decide to give rest to some prominent Indian players. The first name in the list is that of former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who is currently going through a very bad phase, because he has been playing cricket continuously for a long time.

At the same time, after playing the series against South Africa, Team India will also leave for the tour of England and BCCI does not want to take any kind of risk to Virat before that. As because of which, chief selector of the national team Chetan Sharma may decide to rest Kohli for the South Africa series.

According to the statement of a BCCI official published in NDTV, he said that, it can be said about Virat Kohli that a decision can be taken to rest him in the series against South Africa. He added that Virat is playing a lot of cricket at the moment, in which it is not an easy task to be consistent in the bio-bubble, does a decision can be taken regarding senior players other than Kohli.

At present, Virat Kohli is going through a very difficult phase in the current IPL season, in which there has been no improvement in his form even after relinquishing the responsibility of leadership. Regarding which, some great players of the cricket world, including Ravi Shastri and Michael Vaughan, advised Kohli to go on a break.

At the same time, the likes of KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant are also included in this so that all these important players can get the necessary break before the important tour of England.
