Get Away and just freshen up the mind. Brett Lee believes that Virat Kohli needs a break from cricket
Virat Kohli is certainly going through the toughest phase of his cricketing career. The former Indian skipper hasn't had a century since November 2019. It's been almost three years and a combined total of more than 100 matches since he last went past the 100-run mark.

Former Australian speedster, Brett Lee, reckons that Virat needs a break to freshen up his mind. Virat also struggled in the TATA IPL 2022 and RCB faced a humiliating defeat in the second qualifier at the hands of Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets on Friday.

In an interaction with PTI, Lee said that it is a big concern and he would like to see Virat score runs again. He added that the success of the team depends on Virat scoring runs because if he doesn't score runs, the team will not do well.

The former Australian pacer also pointed out that in the 2016 season when Virat scored over 900 runs, he said that when he got over 900 runs, RCB did pretty well that season.

The former RCB skipper just managed 341 runs in the 2022 season at a low average of 22.73. In the second qualifier, he got out cheaply, chasing a wide ball outside off stump.

Lee further said that it is a good chance now for him to go and spend some time away from cricket. He concluded, "Maybe just have a rest from cricket. Just get away and just freshen up the mind.

Lee, who is also the brand ambassador of "Sportsbet.io", notably picked the former Indian skipper as the best batsman in the world last year, along with Pat Cummins as the best bowler. He said in an interview with the ICC that it is very hard to look past Virat Kohli at the current moment.

This season, a number of Indian fast bowlers have burst onto the scene, and some of them have succeeded in catching the eyes of the selectors. Lee named Avesh Khan and Mohsin Khan as the future of Indian pace bowling.

However, the former pacer also lauded SRH speed-machine Umran Malik. He said that the 22-year-old has been fantastic this season and he is hopeful that Umran can get the opportunity to represent India in the longer format as well.
