In just a little over two months, the T20 World Cup 2022, which is set to be held in Australia, will get underway. All of the teams have intensified their preparations for the major competition and will likely reveal their squads in the upcoming days. Since the conclusion of last year's competition, the Indian team has played well and has won six of the seven series contested in the game's shortest version.

India defeated the losing finalist for the 2021 T20 World Cup, New Zealand, as well as the 2014 champions Sri Lanka, the two-time defending ODI World Cup champions England, and the West Indies. The Men in Blue's recent successes will place them among the top contenders for the T20 World Cup.

And on Saturday, Ravi Shastri, a former India coach, shared his thoughts on the Indian speed attack and provided a strong assessment of a 23-year-old bowler's prospects.

He said, "I think very close to it because India needs variety and in Australia, left-armers normally do a good job”. He also said that Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami will play as three bowlers and Arshdeep Singh can fill in as a 4th bowler if he is given an opportunity in any one of the matches.

Last month in Southampton, Arshdeep made his T20I debut for India against England. Since then, he has played in all four matches against the West Indies and has taken 7 wickets. Arshdeep will likely have competition for the third and fourth pacer spots from Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami, and Siraj.

The Asia Cup starts from 27th August and the much awaited clash between Indian and Pakistan is scheduled on 28th August in Dubai. Pakistan which is led by Babar Azam is in flying form and one of the favorites to win this year’s T20 WC in Australia.
