Former Indian team cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that when the team's opening batsman Shubman Gill is in his full form, he looks like a million dollar player. Let us tell you, in the first ODI between West Indies vs India played on 22nd July, Gill played an aggressive half-century inning of 64 runs in 53 balls.

He also hit 6 fours and 2 sixes in his inning. The match was played in Port of Spain, Trinidad. His inning was crucial as it helped India beat the hosts by 3 runs and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Reviewing the match, Aakash Chopra has shared a video in his YouTube channel in which he has praised Gill fiercely. He said, 'Shubman Gill batted well. The way he started with a drive and hit a straight six after the punch was really amazing. When he bats it looks like he is a million dollar player."

He further said that, "Gill made a tremendous comeback and scored a half-century but I believe he missed the century. An opportunity not to be called lost but certainly missed. This is because he was batting very well and the hosts were feeling a lot of pressure at that time."

Let us tell you, there was an important century partnership of 119 runs for the first wicket between Gill and Dhawan. Due to this partnership, India scored 308 runs in 50 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.

Regarding the run out of Shubman Gill, Aakash Chopra said he felt Gill was very lazy to take that run as he himself asked for the run. He said that he was very lazy which is why he couldn't reach the crease at the right time.

He also said that it was surprising when Dhawan announced that Gill would be opening alongside him instead of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan, but he justified his selection.
