The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League has given a major opportunity to many players to showcase their talent. Many young superstars have come and impressed everyone. But there is someone who has proved that it is not just for the young batters, but a veteran can also change the game. He is none other than the veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik. He is currently representing Royal Challengers Bangalore in the TATA IPL 2022.
It would not be a wrong statement to say that the 36-year-old is in the form of his life. He has consistently scored runs for RCB coming down the order. Karthik has been arguably the best finisher this season so far. He has scored 197 runs at an incredible strike rate of 209.57. Last night, as well, he came and played a cameo against DC to help his team post a difficult target that ended up as the winning one. He scored 66 runs off just 34 balls, including five four and five maximums.
Many ex-cricketers and cricket pundits have praised the veteran batter for his performance in the ongoing season. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis has also said that the way Kartik is playing has given them confidence that they can make it big this time around. Former Indian and RCB captain Virat Kohli has also praised him, claiming that he is the best player in the league this season.

Kohli, who himself has not been among the runs, heaped praise on the 36-year-old. There were many doubts and speculation that after the retirement of AB de Villiers, RCB would suffer. But so far, Karthik has done a tremendous job and has been successful in finishing the games for the team. With the win over DC in the last match, RCB is sitting in the third position on the points table. Now they will face the second-placed Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday, April 19.
