"He should've been included for Edgbaston Test" - Harbhajan Singh wants star Indian all-rounder into the Test team 

Hardik Pandya, an all-rounder for India, has played well on his return to limited-overs cricket. Hardik received a return to the Indian T20I team for the series against South Africa and Ireland as a result of his outstanding performance for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Harbhajan, though, also wants to see Hardik Pandya in test cricket.

Another Indian team traveled to England to be ready for the rescheduled 5th Test against England at Edgbaston, while one team traveled to Ireland for a two-match T20I series. Hardik was the captain of the Indian team who went to Ireland. But according to Harbhajan, Hardik Pandya also ought to have been selected for the trip to England.

Harbhajan Singh said that, “I feel India should have included Hardik Pandya. It’s only one match and seamers are expected to do well in England”. He also said that Shardul Thakur has done well but having Hardik Pandya in the side will give some boost for team India.

Since 2018, Hardik hasn't played for India in white. The all-around player has experienced some fitness problems, particularly with his long-standing back ailment. Although the 28-year-old has made a comeback in white-ball cricket as an all-rounder, he might need to further demonstrate his fitness before making a red-ball comeback.

Talking about the match, It looks like India might be playing without Rohit Sharma who tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week. Jasprit Bumrah will captain the Indian side if Rohit does not recover within the time. England team under Ben Stokes thrashed New zealand 3-0 to make a statement and they will be full of confidence facing team India. Hanuma Vihari may get to play in the place of Rohit Sharma. Rishabh Pant will be the vice captain of team India and will play a key role in this test match.
