Here's how Pakistan can still qualify after India's loss to South Africa
On Sunday, India suffered the first defeat of their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign at the hands of South Africa at the Perth Stadium. The Proteas won the game by five wickets to move to the top of Group 2 with five points.

On the other hand, the Men in Blue are in second place on the points table with 4 points in three games. However, after three games for all the teams, it looks like India and South Africa will be the two teams from this group that will qualify for the semi-final.

That has left Pakistan in a very tricky situation. If India had won the game against South Africa, then Pakistan would have had some chances. But now after India's loss, their qualification chances have almost gone. Pakistan had a horrible start to the tournament.

They lost their opening game to arch rivals India at the MCG, then they faced a shocking defeat at the hands of Zimbabwe by 1 run. That came as a shocker. However, Pakistan thrashed the Netherlands by six wickets on Sunday, and it has left them in a helpless situation.

But in a big tournament like this, anything can be possible. And if we look at the whole scenario, Pakistan can still make it to the semis, but that needs a total miracle. Mathematically, if we look at Pakistan, they need to win their remaining two games against South Africa and Bangladesh.

There are still two scenarios in which Pakistan could qualify for the semi-finals. Firstly, they need to win their two remaining games by a big margin and then hope that the game between South Africa and the Netherlands gets called off due to rain.

Then, they should hope that India beats Zimbabwe. In that case, Pakistan will qualify with six points and a better NRR. That is the first scenario for them. The second scenario is that Pakistan wins their two remaining games, which are against South Africa and Bangladesh, by  big margin, and then hopes that both India's remaining games get washed out due to rain.

In that case, Pakistan will have six points and a better NRR than India. That means Pakistan will qualify. Although it looks very tough, this game has always given us many unexpected things. So still, there is hope for the Men in Green in this competition.
