"100 percent sure" - Dinesh Karthik believes that Babar Azam will soon be ranked No. 1 in all three formats

Babar Azam needs no introduction in the game of cricket. The Pakistani skipper is arguably the best batsman across all formats currently. He leads his team in all three forms of cricket and has won many matches single-handedly on his own. In a span of a few years, he has made his mark in international cricket.

He is consistently knocking at the door of being the best batsman in the coming decade. The winner of the ICC Men's ODI Cricketer of the Year 2021 has surely raised the bar high. The term "Fab Four" has now been turned into "Fab Five" with the entry of Babar Azam.

Many ex-cricketers and cricket pundits believe that Babar is the next big thing in the world of cricket. The veteran Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik, also reckons that the Pakistani skipper will soon be at the top in all formats of the game.

Babar is the only batsman in the world with top ten rankings in all three formats. He is the number one ranked ODI and T20I batsman at the moment, and in Test cricket he is in fifth place. And with the way he is performing, it will be no surprise if he gains the No. 1 spot in red-ball cricket as well.

In a discussion with Sanjana Ganesan on the cricket show called "The ICC Review," Karthik said that the 27-year-old is capable of achieving the No.1 ranking in all three formats. The veteran wicket-keeper said, "One hundred percent (he is capable of achieving that)."

Babar will lead his side against the West Indies in a three-match ODI series at home starting from June 8. After that, they will travel to the Netherlands for another three-match ODI series in August.
